Analog Devices Inc. ADGS14x SPI Interface Switches

Analog Devices Inc. ADGS14x SPI Interface Switches consist of serially-controlled, high voltage, iCMOS, and quad SPST switches. The ADGS14x serial peripheral interface (SPI) controls the switch. The SPI interface offers robust error detection features. These robust error detection features include cyclic redundancy check (CRC) error detection, invalid read/write address detection, and SCLK count error detection.

The designers can daisy-chain multiple ADGS14x devices together. The daisy-chain mode allows the configuration of multiple devices with a minimal amount of digital lines. The ADGS14x switches can also operate in burst mode to decrease the time between SPI commands.

Analog Devices Inc. ADGS14x iCMOS construction ensures ultra-low power dissipation. This ultra-low power dissipation makes the ADGS14x Switches well-suited for portable and battery-powered instruments. When in the on state, each switch of the ADGS14x conducts equally well in both directions. In addition, each switch has an input signal range that extends to the supplies. When in the off state, ADGS14x blocks signal levels up to the supplies. These switches' on-resistance profile is flat over the full analog input range. This on-resistance profile ensures good linearity and low distortion when switching audio.
